Fees
Every cost on BRUNE, in one place.
Launching
| Item | Amount | Paid to |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | Free | Nobody |
| Bitcoin cost | Bitcoin network fees for the etching (commit and reveal) plus two 546-sat outputs. BRUNE pays 2× the next-block fee (at least 5 sat/vB) so your Rune makes the next block; the quote covers up to 2.25× the current next-block rate, converted to BNB at the live BTC price | BRUNE's launch treasury, which pays Bitcoin |
| BNB Chain gas | About 8.6 million gas for the token, its pool, its fee vault and your dev buy | BNB Chain validators |
| Dev buy (required) | At least 0.001 BNB, converted to BTCB in the same transaction | The bonding curve (you receive the tokens) |
| Chosen Rune name (optional) | Flap's 0.01 BNB fee to reserve the coin's address, plus a Bitcoin cost fixed when the name is sealed | Flap, and BRUNE's launch treasury |
The Bitcoin cost is shown in BNB, together with your dev buy, before you approve. BRUNE never spends more on Bitcoin fees than it charged; if Bitcoin fees spike above the quote, the etching waits.
Trading
Every trade pays Flap's 1% curve fee (on the curve) or PancakeSwap's 0.25% pool fee (after graduation), plus the coin's 1% tax. Flap keeps 1% of the tax; the rest is split by the coin's fee mode, fixed at launch. All fees are collected in BTCB. Coins whose creator keeps the fees:
| Goes to | On the bonding curve | After graduation |
|---|---|---|
| Creator | 0.248% | 0.248% |
| BRUNE | 0.652% | 0.652% |
| Flap | 1.1% | 0.1% |
| PancakeSwap pool | – | 0.25% |
| Total | 2% | 1.25% |
Coins whose creator fees are routed to other wallets, GitHub accounts or Bitcoin addresses (see Route fees to others):
| Goes to | On the bonding curve | After graduation |
|---|---|---|
| Fee recipients | 0.67% | 0.67% |
| BRUNE | 0.23% | 0.23% |
| Flap | 1.1% | 0.1% |
| PancakeSwap pool | – | 0.25% |
| Total | 2% | 1.25% |
Coins that pay their holders (see Pay your holders):
| Goes to | On the bonding curve | After graduation |
|---|---|---|
| Holders (BTCB on BNB Chain; BTC on Bitcoin for the bridged share) | 0.503% | 0.503% |
| $BRUNE buyback and burn | 0.168% | 0.168% |
| BRUNE | 0.23% | 0.23% |
| Flap | 1.1% | 0.1% |
| PancakeSwap pool | – | 0.25% |
| Total | 2% | 1.25% |
Lowest-fee coins, when the create form offers them, launch without a tax: every trade on the curve pays only Flap's 1.25% fee, of which 0.5% goes to the coin's holders as BTCB dividends and 0.75% to Flap. After graduation they trade on a PancakeSwap Infinity pool (about 0.853%), whose fees Flap also pays to holders. There are no creator fees, no $BRUNE buyback and no BRUNE fee, and their Rune name is always assigned by Bitcoin.
Where BRUNE's fees go
Everything BRUNE earns in BTCB, on every coin, is paid into one contract: the platform treasury. It cannot be upgraded, and the split below is fixed in its code:
- 25% of every BTCB that reaches the treasury goes straight on to the $BRUNE buyback contract, which buys $BRUNE and burns it. The split runs on chain as fees arrive (anyone can trigger it), and only the remaining 75% can ever be withdrawn, so the buyback share cannot be skipped. See $BRUNE.
- This is the same 25% for every source, $BRUNE's own trades included: $BRUNE's fee vault pays all of BRUNE's share to the treasury, with no separate buyback cut. Coins that pay their holders also send their own holder-side buyback share straight to the buyback contract, on top.
- 3% of BRUNE's fee on every trade made by a wallet you invited is yours, in BTC, paid from the treasury's share. See Invite friends.
- The rest runs BRUNE, starting with the Bitcoin network fees of etchings and bridge payouts. BRUNE's operations key can withdraw only within a daily cap set on chain; anything else needs the admin, a 2-of-3 Safe behind a 48-hour timelock.
Claims from the coins' fee vaults are permissionless and always pay the treasury itself. What BRUNE owes in BTC for payouts and BTC accounts, against what it holds for them, is public on Reserves.
