Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the BRUNE website, its API and its services, operated by the operator of BRUNE ("BRUNE", "we"). By using them you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use BRUNE.
1. What BRUNE is
BRUNE is software that lets you create and trade tokens on BNB Smart Chain through third-party smart contracts (the Flap protocol and PancakeSwap), and that etches a matching Rune on Bitcoin for each token and operates a bridge between the two. BRUNE is not an exchange, broker, bank or investment adviser, and does not offer investment products.
How each part works, including every fee, is described in the docs, which form part of these terms.
2. Who may use BRUNE
- You must be of legal age to enter into a binding contract where you live, and at least 18.
- You may not use BRUNE if you are located in, ordinarily resident in, or organised under the laws of a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are a person named on a sanctions list, or where using BRUNE is unlawful for you. We may restrict access by location and may screen addresses against sanctions lists.
- You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including tax laws.
3. Your wallet, and BTC accounts
Self-custody. When you use a BNB Chain wallet, you keep your own keys and sign and send every transaction yourself. We never hold your keys and cannot recover a lost wallet or reverse a transaction.
BTC accounts are custodial. If you sign in with a Bitcoin wallet and deposit BTC, the converted balance is held in a BNB Chain wallet that we control on your behalf, and trades are made for you on your instructions. Balances are subject to the caps and minimums shown in the app and docs, may be paused if we detect a double-spend, fraud or a security incident, and are paid out only to the Bitcoin address that signed in. Keep only what you trade with in a BTC account. A BTC account is not a bank account and is not insured.
4. Launching coins
When you launch a coin you confirm that you have the rights to its name, ticker, image and description, and that they do not:
- impersonate a person, project or company, or suggest an endorsement that does not exist;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- contain illegal, hateful, sexual content involving minors, or violent extremist material;
- promote a scam, a guaranteed return or any other misleading claim.
A coin's data is written to public blockchains and IPFS and cannot be changed or removed, by you or by us. We may stop showing any coin on our website, stop etching or bridging it, or refuse a launch, at our discretion.
5. Fees and quotes
Fees are set out in the fee schedule and in each transaction before you approve it. Quotes are valid for the time shown. Bitcoin costs are estimates converted at live prices; we never charge more than the quote you approved. Network fees are paid to networks, not to us.
6. The bridge and BTC payouts
- Bridging works only for coins whose Rune is final, and is subject to the limits, delays and pauses described in the docs.
- You must bridge Runes only to a Taproot address you control, and send deposits only of the right Rune, without inscriptions. Runes sent to the wrong address or carrying other assets may need manual handling or may be unrecoverable.
- BTC payouts (routed fees, holder rewards and invite rewards) are made automatically on the schedules and minimums in the docs, less network and conversion fees. Amounts below a minimum wait until they reach it. We may withhold payouts to addresses that are sanctioned or abusing the program.
7. Invite program
Invite rewards are paid for genuine trades by wallets that first came through your link. Self-referral, wash trading, bots, spam and misleading promotion are not allowed; we may cancel rewards earned that way and change or end the program for future trades at any time.
8. Risks you accept
- Memecoins are highly speculative. Their price can fall to zero, and you can lose everything you put in.
- Smart contracts can have bugs. BRUNE's contracts are immutable, but the Flap Portal is upgradeable by Flap without a timelock, and Flap can redirect part of a coin's fees. See Security.
- Every coin is priced in BTCB, a token issued by Binance that its issuer can freeze, mint or burn.
- Bitcoin fees and confirmation times vary; etchings and bridge transfers can be delayed.
- Third-party services we rely on (NEAR Intents, THORChain, Turnkey, the Internet Computer, RPC providers, indexers) can fail or be unavailable.
- Blockchain transactions are final. Mistakes, such as a wrong address, generally cannot be undone.
9. Prohibited use
You may not use BRUNE to launder money, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, manipulate markets, defraud others, attack or overload our systems, scrape beyond the published API limits, or interfere with other users. We may block addresses, IPs and accounts involved in such use.
10. No advice, no warranty
Nothing on BRUNE is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. BRUNE is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Figures such as prices, market caps and quotes are informational and may be delayed or wrong.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses caused by blockchains, third-party protocols, wallets, market movements or events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the three months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes and termination
We may change BRUNE or these terms. Material changes are announced on the website before they apply; continuing to use BRUNE afterwards means you accept them. We may suspend or end access to the website or services at any time. On-chain contracts keep working regardless, and BTC account balances remain withdrawable to your Bitcoin address except where the law requires us to hold them.
